Clinical supervision is a process that facilitates developmental growth in knowledge and skills in the counseling discipline while building a collaborative and trusting relationship between supervisor and supervisee. The supervisor will assume many roles to help the counselor-in-training grow, to include teacher, counselor, consultant and mentor. Multicultural and ethical competency is a requirement and is interwoven throughout all aspects of supervision.
Individual and group supervision sessions are available at a competitive rates. Training for groups and small businesses are available as well. Supervision is available online or by video conferencing as well.
SUPERVISION Clinical supervision is required by state law with regards to oversight of clinical experience while seeking license or certification. Ongoing clinical supervision is also required for certain levels of credentials once obtain. Supervision services are provided for the following credentials:
Certified Substance Abuse Counseling (CSAC),
Certified Advance Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CAADC),
Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS),
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC),
Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS)
Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner.
For the CSAC and LCAS; the practicum supervision must be completed with a CCS or CSI at a ratio of 1:10 hours. After the practicum is completed, the supervision ratio changes to 1:40, however it may only be provided by CCS or CSI. The CSAC requires on-going supervision at a ratio of 1:40 for the first renewal cycle, 1:80 for the next, and finally 1:160 for as long as they hold the credential. This may be provided by an LCAS.
